Class Style Rules

Class Style Rules offer a way to quickly apply several style properties to an element, without having to manually assign them one by one. In addition, many interactive elements offer a number of Style Rule properties, which allow you to modify the appearance of an element based on its state (e.g. a checked multiple choice answer can be assigned a class rule).

Create or Replace

A class style rule can be created by following these steps:

  1. Insert an element (that would serve as your template) into the current document.
  2. Design it to your liking.
  3. Open the Class Style Rules dialog using Design > Create Style Rule > Class Rule.
  4. Type a name for your new class rule under New Class Rule, or choose an existing rule to replace under Existing Rules.
  5. Press Create (or Replace if a rule already exists).

Assign

A class style rule can be assigned by:

  • Selecting an element (or several) and using Design > Style Rule.
  • Selecting an element (or several) and changing any of the available Style Rule properties for that element.

Remove

Class Style Rules can be removed in order to revert to the default style:

  1. Open the Class Style Rules dialog using Design > Create Style Rule > Class Rule.
  2. Select one of the rules under Existing Rules.
  3. Press Remove.

Import

Class Style Rules can be imported from other projects:

  1. Open the Import Style Rules dialog using Design > Create Style Rule > Import Style Rules.
  2. Select the project from which you would like to import style rules.
  3. A list of class and element style rules will appear on the right.
  4. Check the rules that should be imported.
  5. Press Import.
