Symbol

Symbols are vector based glyphs, featuring common and useful symbols as well as various illustrative elements. Due to their vector nature, symbols remain high definition at any size, and they can be rotated, flipped, stroked, filled with gradients, given opacity and much more. Symbols are used to enrich the document’s content. They can be easily incorporated with the course’s design and color scheme.

Symbols are based on popular publicly available symbol fonts, such as FontAwesome, Linea and many others.

Inserting a Symbol

To insert a symbol element, use Basic Elements > Symbol. The symbol selection drop-down displays a list of symbol libraries on the left-hand side, each containing a wide variety of symbol thumbnails. Hovering over a thumbnail displays an enlarged preview of the symbol to the right of the drop-down, and clicking the thumbnail inserts it into the document.

Changing a Symbol

To assign a new glyph to a symbol element, double-click the element, or select it and click on the Symbol property in the Settings tab of the properties grid. The Symbol dialog will open and a new glyph can be selected. Hovering any of the thumbnails in the dialog will display a live preview of the glyph in the active document.

Customizing a Symbol

A symbol element can be customized using its many properties, which are available in the Setting tab of the properties grid. Symbols can be customized in a similar fashion to shape elements, which share many of the same properties.
