Navigation locators show the current page number and the total number of pages.
Navigation locator elements are generic elements, consisting of text and two variable elements:
- X, showing the current page number, is a variable element with <Value> set to page number. When <Mode> is current chapter, this variable’s <Value> is automatically set to chapter page number, to show the current page number out of the total pages in the current chapter.
- Y, showing the total count of pages in the course, is a variable element with <Value> set to total pages. When <Mode> is current chapter, this variable’s <Value> is automatically set to chapter total pages, to show the total count of pages in the current chapter.
The text of the navigation locator can be modified as in any other generic element, and variables can be added or removed for customization.
To insert a navigation locator element, use Basic Elements > Navigation > Navigation Locator. Alternatively, to insert one of the preset navigation sets for a richer out-of-the-box experience, use Basic Elements > Navigation Set.
